NORTHERN MONK

Picture
FRENCH MARTINI
In Northern Spirits, Northern Monk work with the best cocktail bars in the North to bring you some unique and delectable beers inspired by signature cocktails.
For their second in the series, they’ve turned to pure elegance. The classic French Martini was invented in the 1980s in New York by bartender Keith McNally and takes its name from one of the main ingredients, Chambord. Think fruity, smooth and velvety but with a sharp backbone. It’s refreshing and indulgent.
Monk have used lots of pineapple here to replicate the sharpness of the cocktail, topped with some raspberry puree, notes of blackcurrant and a touch of vanilla to replicate the flavour of Chambord. Smooth, juicy with medium mouthfeel but with a zingy tang with a 5.7% ABV.
They brewed this beer with Roland’s, the sanctuary of Call Lane, founded in 2014 by brothers Jonathan & Alexander Neil, Roland’s is a laidback bar with courtyard and hidden roof terrace serving up exceptional drinks, great music and good times. Named 32nd best bar in the UK at the 2022 Top 50 Bar Awards.
Roland’s second venue opened in March 2022 with a grown-up, chilled out vibe serving world-class drinks to the fine people of Harrogate.

VAULT CITY

Picture
SUGAR 'N' SPICE
This sweet, warming dessert sour is inspired by pumpkin & apple pie, topped with a dollop of whipped cream, maple drizzle and a light dusting of pecans – a true autumnal sour for the season.

SHAKE S'MORE
Vault City have combined the bold juiciness of a blueberry honeyberry shake with their tangy mixed fermentation base beer, resting among creamy layers of gooey toasted marshmallow, chocolate and sweet maple syrup.

BLOOD AND INK (X FREDDIE ALBRIGHTON)
A collaboration with tattoo artist Freddie Albrighton combining jammy fruits with the subtle salty taste of squid ink creating a striking opaque black colour.
Freddie and Vault City have something in common: they're both big fans of each other's work. Alongside tattooing and art he has a passion for great beer, particularly sour beer, which led to their limited edition collaboration

CIRCADIAN RHYTHM

LEFT HANDED GIANT

Picture
MYSTERIOUS FORCES
As usual LHG have leaned heavily into the additions of jumbo and naked oats, with some white wheat on a super pale base, for a full and fluffy texture. Little pops of blueberry come through from a light kettle dose of mosaic leaf and a hint of gooseberry from a cold addition of Nelson Sauvin SubZero Hop Kief®. Peach, Tangerine & Pressed Grape.

FEELS LIKE SUMMER
Hazy IPA with Krush, Columbus Cryo and Cashmere.
Formerly known as HBC 586, Krush is a variety that oozes rich alphonso mango, so when paired with the luxurious texture of LHG's grain bill and water profile it’s as indulgent as it is refreshing. Up front there’s a crisp lime note and to the back you can pick out a pungent spicy character, from the supporting varieties in their T90 and Cryo form.
Ripe, Mango & Seasonal Confusion.

CHERRY PIE
The pie-fect pint! As FBI agent Dale Cooper once said, "This beer must be where pies go when they die".
Mmmm... Freshly baked Cherry Pie packed with sweet and sour cherries, a hint of almond, and vanilla. All topped with a brown sugar-dusted, flaky pastry pie crust. These are the nostalgic, homely flavours which inspired this decadent, fruit-filled pastry sour.

SIREN

Picture
MAVKA 2024
Siren first brewed Mavka with Ukraine's Varvar Brew in 2018, it's beer that has remained close to their hearts. When they learned about the work of NOXAIDUK through James at Hook Norton, they wanted to support their incredible efforts by bringing Mavka back once more. 50p from each can sold will go directly to supporting humanitarian aid trips from Banbury to Ukraine.

BODY LANGUAGE
Siren have teamed up with Madrid's Cervecera Peninsula on this classic, robust and sessionable stout. Body Language is layered up with biscuity, nutty and roasty malted barley, with a caramelised character from rich dark sugar and just the tiniest hint of smoke. A comforting beer with moreish drinkability.

FOLLOW ME TO THE FIELDS
This brown ale takes inspiration from a Siren team visit to Simpsons Malt, where they tasted a variety of grains throughout the malting process. An impressive 9 different malt varieties build an incredible base of flavour, with Mosaic, Strata and HBC630 hops bringing berry and tropical fruit highlights.

I SAID WHAT I SAID
Bold, bright hops are at the forefront of this soft and creamy IPA. Aromas of honeydew melon, ripe peaches and juicy tropical fruits burst right out of the glass, thanks to a generous dosing of Krush, Citra and experimental HBC1019. The hops also act to balance the sweetness of oats and milk sugar, which contribute a soft, smooth mouthfeel. Luscious, dank, moreish.
