vault city - loaded sours

6/22/2020

Vault City Brewing was started in Edinburgh just over two years ago by IT consultant Steven Smith-Hay and brewer Johnny Horn – both experienced homebrewers with a passion for making sour beer. "Many people producing sour beer in the UK have been using fast-souring methods. But we prefer the more traditional method of mixed fermentation with our own unique house culture – cultured from yeast and bacteria we’ve come across over our years of homebrewing.” Their beer immediately became a favourite here at Trembling Madness, we love well made sours and they don't get much better than Vault City. Loaded full of flavour and in a satisfying large bottle. Sit back and enjoy the Vault City experience.....

Garage Beer Co . Barcelona

Founders Alberto Zamborlin (an Italian) and James Welsh (an Englishman) both ended up in Barcelona, and thank god they did. If you haven't drank Garage beer then you've seriously been missing out on some amazing taste sensations. There's no gimmicks its just great modern quality beer. The artwork is produced by James Welsh's wife - its no relation to the beers but really makes the brand stand out. Our range has just landed today and is tasting as good as any beer in the world... Do not miss it - you only live once. For some more info on Garage check out this article from Goodbeerhunting

verdant

Hailing from Falmouth, Verdant have been brewing 6 years, they where the one of the forerunners of the New England UK boom. There beers today are dank, juicy and full of flavour. We love Verdant, they stick to their style and do this as well as anyone in the country. They're from one of the least COVID infected places in the UK. So there beers safe, right? Of course, they must be, there's something in those hops, a natural sedative and they also reduce the bodies temperature. We have managed to stock 8 different current fresh beers this week, so we've got a excellent sampler pack for you.

Located in Gvarv, in the Telemark region of Norway, Lindheim is more than just a brewery, they are a farm and orchards, a bar and restaurant and all round beautiful place to visit. Specialising in wild fermented, sour beers often using the fruits from their own orchards, they are considered one of the hidden gems of Scandinavian brewing. What a place to be right this second - well we can't so lets just crack open one of their beers, lie down and imagine for a moment..............................................................sorry I'm still there...............

NEW YORK TO OLD YORK

6/10/2020

The tiny island of Run in the Banda Archipelago, Indonesia was exchanged for New Amsterdam in 1667. The Dutch wanted the prized nutmeg more than gold. Who knows what would have been today if that exchange didn't happen - a world without Other Half, Equilibrium, Barrier, KCBC, LIC and much more. We have had our shipment from New York - you may have missed the Equilibrium DIPA but there's still so much choice. If you did miss that DIPA don't worry as North Brews Touch Sensitive is better (that's our  subjective opinion) but it is super fresh.

MOONSHINE MADNESS

6/6/2020

Almost a hundred years ago, prohibition (1919-1933) ruled in the USA: the production and sale of alcohol was prohibited. An epoch of secrecy began. Moonshine was the name the farmers gave to their black distilled liquor, which they filled into preserving jars ("Mason Jars") and then sold on to smugglers, the so-called "bootleggers". The bottling jars were a precautionary measure because buying bottles quickly made people suspicious of being bootleggers. Our moonshines are much different today and are smooth, flavoursome anf easy drinking but based on tradition. See our range here

NERDBREWING (MALMO, SWEDEN)

6/5/2020

Nerdbrewing was founded as a commercial gypsy-brewery in 2015 by Hannes Gruber and Karin Carlsson. Hannes had been a successful home brewer and won medals. Since then Karin has left the company and Hannes has continued in close cooperation with Lilla Ölfabriken and Chad Beer and the three share a brewery on Norbergsgatan in Malmö with the goal of increasing production and reaching a wider audience (made it to York at last!)
The name of the brewery itself and the names of the beers all stem from Hannes background in computer science and software development. Since sharing is caring, Nerdbrewing brought open source from the software world into the world of brewing and the recipes are free for any homebrewer to try out!
Try them poured over ice-cream with extras - indulge yourself - pat yourself on the back we all deserve a treat right now.

We have opened the doors at our Lendal branch for fresh beer growlers. We have 2 sizes - Guzzlers are 4 pints and Gourmets are 1.5 pints. We generally go by ABV to decide which size - Amundsen Dessert 11% Stouts are 1.5 Pints and Schofferhoffer Grapefruit 2.5% is 4 Pints. There's a draught range of fruit and apple ciders. Teas / Coffees / Soft Drinks and an increasing range of other beers.
We are gradually moving our shop up to the ground floor and filling it with great drinks. there will be a range of takeaway snacks following and ice-creams.
We're very exicited about our new soft serve machine - you'll be able to have Schofferhoffer Slushes and Amundsen Dessert beers with Ice cream floats to take away - all Summer. Come on down!!
