VERDANT

PUTTY TIME

Since the inaugural successful launch at Hop City in 2017, Putty has been an annual release in January, they've stuck to the original recipe for this Double IPA. It features a malt base of Golden Promise, a higher-than-normal proportion of wheat malt, along with generous amounts of oats and flaked wheat to provide a well-rounded flavor. The water profile is delicately soft, with substantial whirlpool additions of Galaxy, Mosaic, and Azacca hops. This is followed by an extensive dry hop, with equal parts Mosaic/Galaxy and slightly less Azacca. We recommend leaving the beer for a few weeks to allow for the greeness / hop burn to fade, or buy two, one for now and one for later. There is limited supply on this as ever, we are launching it online Thursday when the lorry arrives for delivery to you Friday. Alternatively you can buy it from our York store on Friday or on tap in our pubs.

HIGHLIGHT
Everything Illuminated | All Motueka DIPA | 8%
Continuing their quest to find ultimate smoothness in their DIPAs they've layered up malted oats, flaked oats and wheat on top of pilsner malt. This base brings incredible silkiness to the body which melds with and elevates the character of Motueka. Prickly pear fruit and a base note of pineapple and lemongrass lead into watermelon and banana. The sweet booziness mingles and lingers with lime zest and soft basil bitterness on the finish. Canned fresh  on 11/01/24

FRESH DROPS
Some light numbers for those trying to do DryJanuary and some fresh tasty brews for those  not. We are building up for their big release at the end of the month.
Picture
The latest in their DIPA v-series collaborations pushes the boundaries of modern liquid hop products. Until now, liquid hops have only ever played a supporting role in their most progressive beers.
They have gone as big as possible with these full-flavour liquid hop extracts, creating a massive aroma and a deep hop resinousness. The hop bill starts with Citra Incognito from Barth Haas, Nelson and Motueka SubZero HopKief from Freestyle for biotransformation, Galaxy and Citra Spectrum, and finished up with Nelson and Motueka Amplifire green hops oil from Clayton Hops to achieve a layered complexity that rivals the best dry hop products available. More info later in the month.

EICHORN

Picture
3 NEW GERMAN BREWS

Eichhorn Pils
With its delicately bitter taste, light golden yellow color and creamy foam. Selected raw materials, traditional craftsmanship and the purity law of 1516 guarantee the fresh beer you want.

Eichhorn Kellerbier
Here is their main front runner: An original Franconian beer specialty. Unfortified, i.e. with little carbon dioxide, and naturally cloudy with yeast. The taste is harmonious and bitter with hops.

Eichhorn Black Eagle
The “Schwarzer Adler” is a bottom-fermented dark full beer with an alcohol content of 6.0% vol.
The variously selected roasted malts give our dark a deep brown color with a rich, malty aroma that is sometimes reminiscent of the delicate sweetness of dark chocolate.
In addition to an easily noticeable hop note in the finish and the cream-colored, compact foam, the “Schwarzer Adler” is characterized as a particularly tasty beer specialty.
